Americans' belt size continues to inch up, and women's waistlines are widening faster than men's, according to new government research.


The latest Centers for Disease Control (CDC) map detailing the prevalence of obesity for all U.S. states based on 2013 Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) data is now available. Three additional maps demonstrate obesity prevalence by race/ethnicity for each state.


USDA’s latest report on food insecurity in America shows that the prevalence of food insecurity is down from a high of 14.9 percent of U.S. households in 2011 to 14.3 percent in 2013.
