The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced the availability of updated data for its Total Diet Study (TDS), an ongoing program that measures levels of certain chemical contaminants and nutrients in foods. The newly available data provide findings from foods collected from 2006 to 2011.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released data on health risk behaviors among high school students in the 2013 Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS). Among other findings, changes in obesity-related behaviors occurred in areas such as screen time and soft drink consumption.

Food Label changes are proposed to help inform consumers as they make food choices. Comments are being accepted until 8/1/2014.
